Apna time aayega (Your time will come)

I'm an ardent Bollywood fan, and the title of this post is the tagline from a soon-to-be released movie- Gully Boy (in case you may be interested).

The Grammys was today (or was it yesterday due to time zone?) and my Twitter feed is nothing short of videos and speeches and praises and pictures and shades and so on.

I've decided to use the Grammys as an inspiration for this post. I wasn't gonna post anything today because my brain is so short on ATP and I didn't know what to write, or develop on that which I've written. Anyways, here we are!

I don't listen to American pop or rap, so I plead neutrality with this post, and also I'll be careful not to trespass, so the fans of the musicians/rappers I mention in this post won't find me and kill me lol.

Digging right in!
Even if Cardi B had been a gang member at 16, or a stripper at 19, she has today, made history as the first female solo rapper to win a Grammy for the Best Rap Album...because it is her time.

Even if Nicki Minaj has worked her rear-end off to infiltrate a male-dominated industry to become the highly-proclaimed Queen of Rap,...it is simply not her time to take home a Grammy.

Two hardworking Queens with different territories (fans)

Mac Miller (his soul rest in peace) may have slept in the studio for months to create an album that generated lots of buzz, but I put it to you that his time to badge a Grammy is not here. Yes, he may not be of this world anymore to receive it in his life, maybe, just maybe he would receive one posthumously.

Unless it is your time, you may work tirelessly like a machine and not have anything to show for it. But when that moment of change comes, you are instantly swept off your feet by the miraculous turn of events. There will be lots of how's thrown at you, or thrown at yourself. The questions of "how did she manage to..."? "How did he do it"? "How can she win over..."? "How is it possible that..."? There will be so many hows and whys. It is up to you to take all these hows and whys humbly, and put in your best to create more reasons for such rhetorical.

To you who is reading this and it feels like the world is turned against everything you do, delay is never a denial. No matter how much you put efforts or be perfect at it, that thing you incessantly pray for will only receive its recognition when it is time. Be patient and don't lose the drive.

J.K Rowling did not lose her drive after a failed marriage, or being diagnosed with clinical depression, or having a dependent child in the hands of her jobless self, or being rejected by twelve publishing houses for the now best-selling series book in history!

Even the highly acclaimed Nigerian novelist, Chinua Achebe wasn't spared of the horror of this time factor, as the manuscript of his first novel was found lying in the corner of an office that was supposed to publish his book. The time for Late Chinua Achebe to be a household name through the success of Things Fall Apart just wasn't yet.

Back to this post's inspiration, like Drake said in his acceptance speech, everyone is a winner irrespective of holding a plaque in one hand and a microphone in the other.
But to become that winner, you have to first bear in mind that, continuous efforts with unwavering determination, at your OWN time, will earn you the limelight.

And when your time comes, which may be soon or not, you have to be ready!

We shall all win, but at different times.

By the way guys, this is my 10th post..yay!!! I appreciate every single read despite my inconsistency. I shall work hard in the future to become a stable and better writer.

Till the next post, keep moving!
